THE REALIZED TRADERSThe Urge Test

The Turn · about 8 minutes

Trade toward the King.

Three real sessions of SPY or QQQ, each one dated, replayed a minute at a time. The amber line is the King: the strike carrying the largest exposure on the TRT Compass board at that moment. It steps when the crown moves.

You get the plan I trade toward it before the first candle. Then the page watches your hand, not your PnL: whether you wait for the turn, and what you do once you’re in.

3 REAL SESSIONS

Real turns from 10 Aug to 9 Oct 2026, chosen because price went all the way to the King. Plenty of turns don’t. These are here to show the whole move.

ONE PLAN

You read it first, then watch it once on a real session, with the page stopping at each part.

PRIVATE

Nothing you do here is saved or sent anywhere.

Before you look at a chart

Three quick questions about you, not the market.

Where are you right now?
1 is settled and prepared. 5 is racing.
Bracing, or receiving?
Bracing: getting ready to protect or prove something before it happens. Receiving: letting the market show you what it’s doing first.
What has the day already done to you?

Your plan

The plan is called the Moment. Read it twice.

THE PLAN, FOR ALL 3 SESSIONS
  1. Play toward the King.King above price, you’re looking for a long. King below, a short.
  2. Let price step away from the King, then wait for the turn. The turn is the first 1-minute candle that closes clearly back toward the King, off the furthest point price reached away from it.
  3. Take the meaningful piece. It never needs the touch. The piece is about a tenth of a normal day for that name. It shows as a dotted line once you’re in.
  4. You’re out on a new furthest point, or when the crown moves. The crown moves when the King changes to a different strike.
THE RIGHT ANSWER, EVERY SESSION

Get in on the turn candle and take the piece. That answer comes from the plan, not from how the session ended. Every session here was chosen because price went on to present to the King, and plenty of turns don’t: some make a new furthest point first, and the out keeps those small. The piece is the answer either way, because the plan never needs the touch. After each session the page shows the plan’s trade next to yours.

Each session replays a little over an hour of the day, one minute of chart every second. You can pause any time and slow it down or speed it up.

To get in there’s one button, and it always points toward the King: GO LONG when the King is above, GO SHORT when it’s below. Once you’re in, it becomes CLOSE. A new furthest point closes you on its own, the same way a stop would. When the piece prints, or the crown moves while you’re in, the replay stops and asks what you want to do.

Under the chart are the other two indices, each with its own King, and the VIX. The chip at the top shows which way each of the 3 Kings sits from its own price: full when all 3 are on the same side, partial when it’s 2 of 3, split when a King sits right on price. It’s context, not a rule in the plan. At the end you’ll see what your hand did against it.

First, a short walkthrough on one real session. The page stops at each part of the plan and shows you where it is on the chart. Then 3 sessions on your own.

Hands off is for the moment you feel the pull and don’t act on it. Press it whenever that happens. It counts.
